IT'S MORE THAN RECOVERY, IT'S DISCOVERY
When people hear about a woodshed, they grin and think of discipline, but it’s also known as a path to discovery. The term is used in academia to test students and for musicians, it’s an escape for creativity. We chose our name to reflect the nature of our mission. In dealing with addiction, it’s natural to try and recover what’s been lost, but it’s supernatural to discover what’s never been found.

CLASS
At The Woodshed, our class time is centered on deep biblical discipleship and gospel transformation. Using curriculum such as The Heart of Addiction by Mark Shaw and A Banquet in the Grave by Edward Welch, we provide over 500 hours of biblical instruction focused exclusively on who Jesus Christ is and the true nature of salvation. Our goal is not simply behavior modification, but heart transformation through the power of the gospel, helping men discover freedom, identity, and lasting hope in Christ.

THE WOODSHOP
At The Woodshed, men are also given the opportunity to develop responsibility, discipline, and purpose through hands-on work in our woodworking shop. This environment allows participants to learn valuable skills, practice teamwork, and experience the dignity that comes from meaningful labor. In addition, each man completes over 300 hours of community service, serving local churches, ministries, and organizations throughout the community. These efforts not only help support and fund the ministry, but also encourage servant-hearted living, accountability, and a renewed understanding of what it means to give back to others through the love of Christ.

DISCIPLESHIP
At The Woodshed, discipleship through the local church is a foundational part of the recovery process. Men in the program are actively connected to the body of Christ through regular church attendance, biblical teaching, mentorship, worship, and opportunities to serve alongside other believers. Through these relationships, participants learn the importance of accountability, fellowship, and spiritual growth within a healthy church community. Our desire is not only to see men experience recovery, but to see them become faithful disciples of Jesus Christ who are rooted in the local church long after completing the program.
